Feb 2017 Trading
Well, this month, I was not able to get a profitable month. Earlier of the month, I actually lost more than $63. But was happy to recover some of it before month end. Its considered a consolation prize for me already. Ok enough say, lets see if I can get some profit in the next month :)

Feb 2017 Portfolio
This month, I managed to get some OCBC after there was a dip in its price. Overall, Feb has been a good month will a lot of runup and my portfolio was finally in the positive zone of 1.7% after so many months. Lets hope that market will continue to run up for the month of Mar too.
STI vs my portfolio
My portfolio is FINALLY positive after so many months :)

Jan 2017 Trading
This month is quite a good and profitable month. I managed to chalk up a handsome profit which is almost the same as my total profit in 2016. This is definitely a good start in 2017! If this continues for the rest of the year, I will definitely be a happy man. Especially for this kind of return per month, of course it out performed my dividend stock portfolio. However, in trading, we cannot expect everyday to be Sunday. Some day or month, I will have to return some of my profits to Mr Market. I hope to see more of such winning trades in future :)

Jan 2017 Portfolio
This month, thanks to Trump effect, the market ran up alot and we have witnessed history that DOW broke 20,000 and STI also shot through 3000. My portfolio also enjoyed the run up. This month I also didnt buy any stocks because of the run up. I will probably buy up some when there's a correction in Feb.
STI vs my portfolio
My portfolio is still hovering in the negative region :( but good news is that I beat STI at least a consolation prize :)

This month got no dividend at all :(

2016 Year End Portfolio Review
Its the end of 2016, let's just do a little checkpoint to see how much am I closer to my target :) I started building my portfolio in Oct 2014. So close to 3 years of results.
STI vs my portfolio:
My portfolio already beat STI for many months with the cumulative amount of dividends collected, but if you count only capital gain, I still beat the market.
Portfolio by stocks:
I am currently still in the process of diversifying my portfolio such that they should not exceed more than 5% of my total portfolio. I am always looking out for more high dividend stocks to buy so that I will be more diversified. The recent bear market has allowed me many opportunities to pickup blue chips and mid cap chips with high dividends I have 23 stocks with me now and will be targeting to reach more than 30 of them.
Portfolio by sector:
In the sector diversification, my Capital Markets sector has come down due to my buying up of other sectors. I also bought in quite a number of shares in the Industrial conglomerates which consists of Keppel Corp and Sembcorp Ind, telco companies and REITs, it is now about 11.5%, 18.8% and 12% respectively. I am targeting probably not more than 20% for each sector of the other stocks.

Target:
My 3rd target is to invest up to $161,000 and receive monthly dividend up to $920 per month. I think I already met my 3rd target in 2016!
I have invested $174k and expected to receive monthly dividend of about $905 :)

Dividend:
Total dividend is $10k+
Dividend per month is $905

Portfolio Analysis:
My worst performer is Noble Group (-55%) Grrr. I was trying to catch the bottom at 69c but it went down even further. Now, it is offering rights issue at 11c. Super big discount to its trading price :( Noble has gone through worst time during 2008 crisis but the lowest it went there was 42c I think. Let's hope Noble can pull through and recover *pray* haha
My best performer so far is UMS(36%). This one was bought during my early days and was collecting dividends and some capital gains :)
Overall, my portfolio still ends negative in mid 2016. Some credits for the diversification of stocks. My risks are spread out throughout my list of stocks. Cant imagine if I have a big share in Noble then my portfolio will look really bad. But things are turning around and I can see my portfolio recovering near to breakeven already. Just a few months more ...
At end of 2016, I already invested close to $174,000 and receive monthly dividend of $905. Based on the projection of my expected annual dividend of this current portfolio, I should be getting around $12000 which is about $1000 per month. So I should have met my 3rd year target. We will confirm this when we do a full review of 2017 at mid year. I will continue to follow my strategy of allocating $5000 each month to buy high dividend stocks and march towards my 3rd target which is ...

2016 Trading Review
I started trading in Jan 2016 and like I said before, this should be my 3rd attempt. Every time when I have a new try, I would always regard as money being thrown away. There's no difference for this time too.
As you can see from the chart above, my trading got a good start when I got a few wins, beginner luck maybe. However, all that it became like an exciting roller coaster ride in USS. My P&L started soaring up and crashing down, as you can see the consistency is not there. Its too exciting for me. The worst scenario came in Jul 2017 when I got a losing streak and lost quite alot. This caused a big dent in my trading capital. I still remember myself being very nervous when I put on a new trade and expecting it to turn into a loss. There was no confidence in me at all. Then, I managed to gain some ground and almost recover everything and it stay there for a while before dipping down again.
It was only in Oct 2016 onwards which I finally build up the trading confidence in me as I made 2 consecutive profitable months. But Mr Market always want to remind us again when we were cocky. He managed to plough back some of my profits back and its a big chunk too. I have learn from this mistake and it will not happen again.
The full year result for 2016 is a good return of 9.5% :)
Not bad right for a 1st year noobie? :)
Moving forward I am sure I can get a better result in 2017. Stay in touch!

Dec 2016 Trading
Made a big mistake at the beginning of Dec and it has already confirmed that I would end the month will a negative return. As you can see from the ugly steep dip in my trading equity. Indeed it was because the loss was quite huge. However, did managed to gain back some and narrow down the loss but nevertheless still end up as a negative month.
